'94+ mach system...

ok on to b*tch #2 with the stang.

I know the '94+ stangs come with a better sound system from the factory vs. the older stangs. Well the guy I bought the stang from put a decent CD player in it, and the surround speakers don't work. I doub't thier blown cause you can tell that right away. The only sound I get is from the cheap amp & sub thats hooked up and it just sounds like sh*t.

Can I just re wire the whole system up like ya can on the fox's?? If thiers a easier way I'd like to hear it. Otherwise I'll just rewire it all, no big deal then.

the stock speakers dont work. I doub't they are blown but could be I guess.

if he put in the headunit himself you should go over his work and make sure he did everything right.

Check the fuses for the factory amps...

make sure he use all the harnesses correct! i was able to pull my aftermarket cd player out of my 95 v6 with base stereo and put in to my 97 gt with mach 460 with out any issues and all speakers work! so double check all the wiring. i know some kits will tell you to bypass the factory amp, so check that out as well

There are 3 harnesses in the radio for these cars. 1 of them is power, ground, illumination, etc. 1 of them is a small square plug for connecting to the factory amps. The other plug is a longer rectangular plug for bypassing the factory amps. Use the amp bypass plug and it should work.

i never bypassed the amp and mine works flawlessly, its the factory amp that powers all the extra speakers

Bump!

Just checked it out last saterday. The rear speakers were not hooked up. The factory amp is gone, the conections were all thier. He tried to hook it up, but conected some wrong wires to is own new wires.

So yeah, ended up just hooking it up the way I did on the fox's. New cd player, new speakers, and new wiring to replace that mess!! Sounds better now!!
