    Muffler

I own a 00 F150 with a 4.6, i want to cut the stock muffler off of it and replace it with a bit louder muffler, just to give it more of a throaty sound, not nothing too loud, you know what i mean. Any suggestions on brands? Thanks I was thinking maybe a flowmaster or something on that lines.

Any aftermarket muffler will sound better. With the stock cats, it won't be that loud.

I was wondering how loud it would be with the stock cat, so then i could go with a small muffler and put a piece of pipe in there too.

Tony, get a 2 chamber Flowmaster. Or a 40 series.

So with the cat, it wont be TOO loud? Oh and its the stock tail pipe also.

Been running a 'house brand' turbo muffler on my 97 (5.4 f150), for about 5 years now. Doesn't seem to want to get any louder. Stock everything else.
Yeah, with the cat on, only way to make it sound annoying is to NOT put a muffler on, and just run straight pipe. (IMHO they sound like ass).

Make noise with the race car, not the race car hauler. (my thoughts anyway).
You can sleep in your race car, but you can't race your house!

I think it would be perfect and have thought about doing that to mine.
