    Brake Light

So, when I brake hard and sometimes not hard, my brake light will come on and then go off when I let off. In the manual it just says the light comes on when the e-brake is engaged. Theres nothing about loss of pressure or low fluid. There is plenty of fluid, I checked that. Just wondering if it's done this to anyone else. Just started like a month ago.

Yeah, kinda what I figured. There was just no brake noise yet. Ah well, I'll just let em go until spring. Doing a cobra conversion anyway.

yea thats probably safe People in this state are so lucky their cars dont get inspected. I think they all should have to pass an inspection

Trust me it still stops fine, I know this because I had to slam them the other night. She stopped just fine, but the light was just annoying me. Don't worry I'm not one of those idiot drivers who doesn't even know brakes need to be changed. I've heard that before, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Yikes!

How does pad wear make the brake light come on? I'm just curious.. One of my cars does this exact same thing.

I dont know I just enjoy being an asshole. My guess is when applying the brakes with thinner pads the piston is going out farther and the level of fluid becomes low until the pedal is released. I dont know I just work on em. . . . .

I think that's exactly correct, pison has to travel further, fluid goes down, throws the Ebrake/brake light on then goes out once you stop braking. As soon as that light starts coming on, you can expect to hear some metal on metal very soon.
