I have a 2000 F150 with 4.6 in it, lately after it sits for a while, it has to crank over several times before it starts, it usually fires in a couple of revolutions. This leads me to believe that the fuel pressure is bleeding back, am i right? And what would be causing this?

try to turn the key to run but dont start it. Do that twice before you start it and see if it fires up. If it does thats a good sign its bleeding off pressureServicing your Auto, Home, Life, Commercial and Collector & Race Car Insurance needs

I have heard that too and weather it is true or not I still try not to do it. Besides the shit in the tank, the fuel cools the pump, so when low on fuel the pump probably isnt cooling as well cause it isnt submerged anymoreOriginally posted by 351capri View Postwell they say your not supposed to run the gauge down to empty, i have heard that from a couple different people now, they say it sucks debris in the pump and wrecks it. And i do run mine down to empty.

I never run my blazer below a 1/4 tank because they are known for fuel pump problems anyway.

See if Walbro makes a pump for your truck, because I put a NAPA pump in, and it died a mile down the road, so I went to Ford and bought an OEM one with all of the shit attached. Cost me almost 300 bucks. I look at it, and it's a fucking Walbro. Way to mark up the pumps by a fuckload Ford you asshats.

Walbro makes GM pumps as well... and Holly pumps. Shit.. I have a GM Universal Holly 255lph... and it's the same damn pump I put in the Cobra.
Get that fuel filter swapped out either way... and hope it's just the regulator and not the pump.F/S: '94 Cobra, Rio Red/Saddle, 34.5K Orig Miles, Light Mods, 20yr Owner.
