    WEIGHT.... the only difference... CHROMOLY CAN BE USED IN SMALLER DIAMETER DUE TO TIS STRNGTH AND THUS MAKING IT LIGHTER...

        Chromoly is lighter and costs more. Mild steel is heavy and costs less. Chromoly must be tig welded. Mild steel can be mig welded.
        8.54 @ 159 mph on a 275 drag radial
        5.43 @ 127 mph to the 1/8
        8.91 @ 153 in True Street legal trim
        Best 60' at Top End Dragways 1.22 on 275's

            I dont think this is true , diameter is same but the wall thickness can be lighter!
            It is a damn poor mind indeed which can't think of at least two ways to spell any word.

              Mine is Chromoly and weighs around 90#, plus cost about $350. I think the S&W is like $150 and is around 20# more.

                  Any lines on places for materials for both? already looked at jegs/summit/s&w just curious..

                          Also, all you need to do is find a place that sells steel. We just bought a bunch at a place in Mankato for my car trailer.
