When you first turn the car on it should flash a code for you.

I have ALL of the equipment for that.......if you need a piece just holler.

Count your flashes. My 1991 LX flashes 6 times and that indicates a short or open in the clock spring which is behind the airbag I believe.

I counted the flashes and there are 10. So there is a short somewhere I think. I want to just put a diff. column in there with tilt I just didn't want the airbag to deploy for some stupid reason if I was driving. Anyone have a tilt column they want to get rid of?

Make sure you buddy puts his ear on the steering wheel for this when you do it so he can listen for relay's clicking


If the light is on the airbag wont go off. Just like ABS if the light is on it wont work. Make sure when doing any airbag work the battery is disconnected and you arent doing anything to produce static elactricity. You can never be to careful when doing airbag work. Nothing scares the fuck outta me like an airbag
