    94-95 EGR Pipe

Can I just plug the end on the header and the EGR fitting? Will this cause any ill effects?

EGR sucks. I got rid of mine on the cobra. I had to have some stuff turned off in my tune, but not sure if anything else needs to be done on a 5.0.

same in 94/95s. It needs to be in the tune. People bitch about the egr. There isnt a reason to get rid of it unless there is something wrong with it. Then there isnt a reason to spend money to replace it, especially if you already have a chip in the car. Otherwise it may be cheaper to fix the problem the 550 to tune the car if all you want os to delete the egr.

Plus they never wear out.

          I disagree.

egr actualy helps increase fuel econonmy, there is no reason to get rid of it unless you have after market cams, or as TRD said, if it fails.

tricking the PCM into thinking EGR is still working can cause detonation.

What do you mean aftermarket cams? I have an aftermarket cam, and everything seems fine.

It's not really that big of a deal. I just wanted to know what would happen if I plugged both the bung on the header and the bung on the intake.

I mean aftermarket cams, or in singular instances "cam"

What you want to do is more or less the same thing an egr delete. It closes up the holes. I was asking this question not to long ago but I couldn't get a good answer. Everyone kept saying to get an actual egr delete but couldn't tell me if just plugging the holes would work. It seems logical to me that you could just plug up the holes without actaully doing an EGR delete, but at the same time there has to be a reason why people make EGR deletes. Maybe just to make it more of cleaner delete, not have to cut pipes... I don't know.

Straight from the shop manual. The EGR system is used to lower oxides of nitogen emission levels caused by high combustion temperatures. The EGR recirculates a small amount of exhaust gases into the intake manifold. The additional mixture lowers the temperature of combustion thereby reducing the formation of NOx compounds.

Too little or no EGR flow allows combustion temperatures to get too high during acceleration and load conditions. This can cause detonation, engine overheating or emission test failure.
                        .
