    AOD SHIFTER STUPIDITY

Anyone know of a way to change the shift pattern in this shifter? Want to know if there is a way to go from 1-2, 2-3, 3-od.

I agree. The aod shift pattern sucks. I was told the only way to change the pattern is new valve body. TCI or Lentech have them.

You cannot change the pattern unless you buy a re-routed valve body that puts overdrive on a switch such as mentioned above.

You can manually shift it through each gear without doing the shifter dance?

You want a manual reverse valve body. I don't know if such a thing exists for an AOD, but, I would not recommend manually shifting a stock AOD, thats how I toasted OD in mine

I checked jegs, they have a manual valve body.

Summit has 4, none are reverse, or that they list...

TCI site should have more info, call them, the reverse pattern should be PRN 1-2-3

Lentech does have one, does not say if its a reverse pattern or not.

You also can't put OD on a switch, the AOD is not electronic

Same here, i used to do the 1-d-1 shuffle with my old tranny but again toasted my OD band. Do not do this unless you have a valve body meant for it. It will quicly turn into a high expense in no time. I have the lentech valve body in my tranny and its shift patter is 1-2-3/4 (4 is electric OD switched). This solinoid stops the OD band from temporarily enaging when your manually shifting the car.

How does it shift otherwise? I'm confused.

Really? They make the OD electronic then with the manual valve body? I know on a stock trans, as long as you don't put it in OD, you do not use OD, but, you need a moddided valve body to get 4th(OD).

Either way, the AOD is weaksauce. I toasted 1, then my bro put one into the car after I sold it to him and, it was a turd, you would lay on it, power band would hit, and, it would slip, it has a 5 speed now, so, no slippage

Autotragic shifts like an automagic...the reverse valve body is so you can shift it on your own, IE, when you move the shifter, it gets a new gear.
