I just bought my winter beater and finally got it to run; a 1992 Ford Escort GT. Everything seems good but it won't idle down from about 2000 rpms. If I turn the idle screw in all the way it comes down a to about 1500 rpms. If I screw the screw all the way in and unplug the IAC (I think it's a IAC) it comes down to about 1000rpms. If I take off the air tube that leads to the air flow sensor it will start for a few seconds then die. The air flow sensor is the old style with the door that opens. Any ideas or is anyone fimiliar with this engine? Thanks.
