    how fast on a T5?

    i was just curious and wanted to know who has some fast cars/high hp on t5's? without g-force stuff.
    anyone in the 10's?

      There's some pretty fast Pro-shifted T-5's out there. I know there are some in the 10's, I don't know about 9's though.
      8.54 @ 159 mph on a 275 drag radial
      5.43 @ 127 mph to the 1/8
      8.91 @ 153 in True Street legal trim
      Best 60' at Top End Dragways 1.22 on 275's

        Im pretty sure he is talking about stock T5s.

        I think youll find is much like anything stock. Its not always a question of how fast or how much power it can handle, its a question of how long it can handle it.

          I went 11.40's last year with a stock t-5. My roomate is still on the a stock t-5 and has been in the 11.30's with it. It's just tough to make them last at the power levels it takes to run those numbers.

            yes i was talking about stock t5's.

            rob ran all his numbers on a original t5. i wonder if it would be more reliable with the ford racing rebuild with all the upgraded stuff?

                Is yours broke, or are you prepairing for it to break? Either way, speaking from someone who has learned that trying to squeak by, although it may work, ends up more frustrating in the end.

                My first T45 held up for over 20k, so when it broke. I figured, hell I can squeak on by with another stock T45. And here I sit with under 5k now on a combo of two more T45, and the new one is screwed too.

                I guess what I am trying to say, is if your going to rebuild, or replace it, OVER DO IT!. It may cost a bit more now, but the headache it saves in the long run not having to worry or break it again, cant even begin to compair to the upfront costs.

                  Miles do affect the life of syncros, bushings, and bearings, but not hard parts. The issue at hand is how long does it hold up to various power levels.

                  As my previous posts says, my stock T45, held on to over 370rwhp for 20k, once I hit 390rwhp it died shortly. Now with over 420rwhp I cant seem to keep a T45 alive in my car.

                  You may have over 200k miles on a stock T5 and it works fine, but if you put it behind a 400rwhp motor, and it breaks right away, its hard to say that it held up for over 200k.

                    mine is not broken, but i'm thinking ahead. i have a pre 90 t5 with about 200k, and it's been good so far. the heavy duty rebuild is rated about 70ft.lbs higher than my current one (new) if those number mean anything, which i don't think they do.
                    but the HD rebuilds come with stronger gears i guess, better alloys. i just don't know how much they hold or how much i could expect.

                        About 1500 for 1st through 4th with a input shaft and a output shaft. No rebuild kit just gears.

                        Weight of the car also plays a big role on how long the trans last when launching...

                            never had a problem getting it into gear, they just eventualy start cooking the fluid inside of them....Even all messed up, I stand confident in saying that I can bang gears quicker than most.

                              I could not agree more after breaking 3 in 1 season it was time for a change! i would buy a g-force kit again if I had to build another tranny for the car, I have been very pleased with the 1 I have now!

                              a basic g-force kit will run about 1100.00 plus 300.00 for a new clutch and this set up would support most cars on here! I bought the upgraded main shaft for another 295.00 just for some added security and I would do it again in a heart beat!
                              it's almost allstock! except the wheels.
