My 95 Mustang is throwing some sort of code. It comes on only when I drive it, and doesnt come back if you shut it off until you drive it again. So I'm pretty sure its an 02 sensor. But I was going to check it just to make sure. I took it to two different shops and they both could not read what code it is throwing. WTF? Is this some wierd cross over year where you could plug in an OBDII end, but its actually not?
Why cant I read what code its throwing

HMMM. My Dad has a 95 F150. It's ODB1 and it follows the same fucked up
pattern. It doesn't throw the check engine light on until after a mile or 2.
I Know as of today that the ODB1 code reader for Ford is only $20 bucks.
Oh well it's his prob.

Same thing happens to me, the check engine intermediatly comes on and goes off, I really think it has somthing to do with the 02 sensor and how modified the xhaust system on my truck is.. Anybody else ever expirence a flashing overdirve light column shifter before? Whenever it happens, I cannot get it to go away.. I pretty much have to restart the computer by leaving the batter unplugged overnight and then it stays off for quite a long time before comming back. I've got a temp sensor on it, and after a bit of driving it seems to hover right around 170-180... I think that is within normal range, anybody know?
Our problems are probably damn close being my truck is a 95 5.008' Focus Coupe MTX 2.0 / 00' Contour SVT 3.0 / 95' F150 5.0 / 86' F350 6.9IDI / 74' Bronco EFI 5.8 / 74' Bronco Ranger EFI 5.8 / 66' Mercury Monterey 352FE / 64' Galaxy 500 390 FEI bleed blue

Do not try to use the OBDII plug down by the drivers right foot, instead you will have to use the OBDI connector under the hood in order to read the codes. I have the same connector on my car and it never has worked for me.

You most likely have an electrical problem with your transmission. Possibly a solenoid or wiring issue.Originally posted by D3thM3talSame thing happens to me, the check engine intermediatly comes on and goes off, I really think it has somthing to do with the 02 sensor and how modified the xhaust system on my truck is.. The OBDI connector is right behind the right strut tower next to the firewall on a 95 stang. I think it is labled for engine diagnostics or something along those lines but dont quote me on that. If you dont have a scanner or code reader, you will have to jumper 2 wires and count the ses light flashes.

There any way I can have this checked out? I dunno if it really is a problem anywase, its an off-road truck and used on side projects. I probably put 500 miles on it a year.. but they are a hard 500...Originally posted by 95 whitestangYou most likely have an electrical problem with your transmission. Ya someone should be able to figure it out, put a scanner on it and see what codes are stored in the ECM.
