Short throw shifter question

I picked up a cheap short throw shifter, it might be a pro 5.0 not sure. Anyways, there are what looks like two larger screw holes both top and bottom if you are looking straight at the shifter. Right now there is nothing in them. I was thinking these might be for "bump stops" or whatever, where you adjust how far the shifter can travel forwards and backwards. I remember outrun saying something about adjusting this sort of thing when he installed his short throw shifter. If this is the case, should I run to the hardware store with it to get a couple of bolts so the shifter travel can be stopped at some point, or should I not bother and just install the shifter as is? Thanks.

You need those bolts. Go to the store and get the bolts. Those are what stops you from breaking shift forks.

Ok yeah, the holes are exactly where they have the "stop bolts" pointed out on that diagram. I'll just run to the hardware store and get what I need. Thanks Chris!

Well with all the hype, I figured I would try one out. If I don't like it, I'm yankin it right back out and throwing the stock one back in. Never know, I might still do that. But I'm open minded and figured I would try one out for a while. I still have had no problems with the stock shifter, and I would never have spent the money for what they want for a new short throw shifter. So there!
