I agree. It sounds expensive. Tons of peeps on this board have S/C setups. Hopefully you're going w/ a ProCharger.

Is your estimate with the intercooler itself. I can see an intercooler+tubing costing $1000. More is a rip off.

I'll be getting a Procharger soon for mine. 11lbs boost, 80% gain (intercooled, upgraded fuel pump/injectors 'course). www.procharger.com Yeah they're expensive as hell but with a 3 year waranty and some other neat features, it's a nice charger.

I have a novi,I am sure a pro charger is a good unit but a little over priced,I have allready seen over 60% gain and with a intercooler I will see a little more hp.

I would like one but damn.....needs to be cheaper. Anyone know where I can get one for my vortech setup?

Or custom make one could always work

You got a boost gauge on it yet? How much boost you running? What can a Novi 1000 put out boost wise? I was pushing 15-16lbs with an S-Trim and made a bunch of power and ran no intercooler. There a re lots and lots of guys pushing big boost and no intercooler and having no problems. I have heard of your set up from Jon, Im just curious on the Novi 1000, do they really or are they really limited to low boost and you cant really spin them that fast? So they really just heat up the air and become inneficient? im just curious.

No boost gauge yet,but yes I think your wright on spinning the 1000 faster it does seem to create more heat, paxton says 12 lbs. max to run efficicently but I think thats still a little high, maybe I should have used the 2000 instead,I just came back from hi-tech and seems to run very well and no more pinging, casey pulled out a little timming. Was your motor stock and how does the s-trim compare in size to the 1000.

Still got good power? How many degrees did Casey pull? The s-trim is comparable to the NOVI 2000, correct me if I'm wrong-Tim. Rated for 10psi? I think you will still get some power fade from a NOVI 2000 or s-trim when it's warm out. What are you trying to accomplish with the intercooler. More power??

Out of the box, my S-Trim made 10psi with the AFR 185 heads and F-cam, I swapped to a 2.95" pulley and was around 15-16 in good air, never a hint of detonation/pinging. Stock size pulley is 3.33" on an S-trim and max "efficient " boost is claimed to be 18 psi. Then they start heating up the air too much.

Novi2000 is far larger than an S-trim, but the Novi1000 is close the the same size as an S-trim (speaking in terms of max boost, efficiency, CFM, not in actualy size). Novi2000 is larger than D1SC actualy, and can support more power, at least in the RR version (reverse rotation). The Novi1000 has been proven to suport over 450rwhp on 4.6L aplications, and is pretty much a paxton equivlent of the S-trim, be it slightly smaller, but still larger than the P1SC

I pulled 1 degree from 4000rpm up, and then set it up to pull 2 more degrees when the air charge got up over 160degrees (so now its pulling 4degrees at 160, 6 at 180, ect ect). So now if the ACT is at 160 degrees it has 16-17 degrees of spark. Problem with 5.0 motors is if you start to get too low of timing, they simply will not rev, they will actualy start to miss in the upper RPM range.. I left the car plenty rich to help try and keep combustion cool, but if I recall, he said he was seeing over 12psi boost, with no intercooler, thats creating lots of heat.
