A 285 might not fit really well up front. I have heard that 275's rub slightly. I run 285/30's in back and 255/35's in front. Also treadwear is heavily dependant on driving habbits. if you go to the track or accelerate hard on the street they will wear significantly faster. On my tires I anticipate them lasting 15,000-20,000 miles and they have a treadwear rating of 220. Those should last 30k miles as long as you don't beat the crap out of them. It's the price of having 18" wheels. And don't put different tires on the front i looks wierd IMO.
What do you guys think of these tires?

I didn't anticipate rubbing issues, otherwise I would've gotten 18X9s up front. Hopefully it won't be too bad with 275s then.Originally posted by VELOCITYA 285 might not fit really well up front. emart, i'm not going to go looking around for cheaper 18" tires for you, i guess i thought there'd be some cheaper ones that kdw's but maybe not if you say so.
it'd be best to get matching tire sizes front and rear so you can rotate them, that would help on tire life alot! and if you're only talking 275vs.285, might as well just get 275 all around, not like you could tell the difference by looking anyway.
and i agree that different tires from front to rear looks dumb.

You should talk to Nate. Kickassflash, I mean Valiant. He has some ultra grippy 18 inch tires that are 275's all the way around I believe that he got for really cheap. They are a competition tire though. Maybe not what you are looking for, but I know he got them for under 140.00 each.

18s are going to be expensive no matter what route you go, there really isn't a 'cheap' 18" tire. I run Bridgestone Potenza S-03s and they are sticky as fuck on dry pavement and still awesome in the rain. 245/45/18 they were $245 per tires. Well worth it. If you want cheap tires then get a Civic DX with 13s. $25 per tire.

Not True, lol i just bought a set of 4 tires on ebay for 416 shipped, 265/35R18 W speed rating. I know they are crap tires, cheapie no name junk tires but i don't care, i want to use my new wheels and i've got nice tires on my 17s for if i do any track duty. I run bf goodrich g-force t/a KD's in a 275/40R17 and they are badass but i wouldn't want to pay 230+ each to replace them f that. I now have tires i don't have to worry about being able to afford it if they spin a little. 400 is way easier to stomach than 1000, I always used to be anti-cheap tires but now i'm kinda realizing I don't need them all the time, just have a good spare set if you can do that and you have the best of both worlds. but yeah i kinda laughed to myself when you said reasonable $244 each tireOriginally posted by FORCEFED18s are going to be expensive no matter what route you go, there really isn't a 'cheap' 18" tire. not to get too off topic but all this talk about "cheap" tires reminded me of something. tires are the most important safety feature of your car. Would anyone look around for the cheapest airbag or cheapest seatbelt or harness. probably not. Just the .02 of a tire guy
