    Throttle body mod.

    Redneck mod?

I was looking at going to a 94-95 style 5.0 HO intake. U-pull has a 92 T-bird with one and the price is right. Why? For a better throttle cable route, so it reacts smoother.
The main issue is the T-bird 5.0 HO throttle body is only 60mm.

Here is what I'm thinking of doing... (Figure it'd save $200)
I've and extra stock 92 Mustang throttle body.

Pull the T-bird throttle body apart. Increase the ID to match the Mustang throttle body inside plate. Then assemble the board out T-bird throttle body with the Mustang plate.

if your saying don't do it, tell me why

Sounds like a lot of work for no gain. In fact, I'd venture to guess you would loose power since the 94-95 intake plenum is inferior in design to the 87-93.

        True.

However this engine is in a 1977 CJ-7, and I'm have issues with the throttle sticking (because the engine is so close to the firewall) so that is my main focus.

Your sure the Stock Mustang plate is that low? Sure looked like 65 to me, I'll have to measure.

pretty sure it's 58mm for stock 94-95. You can buy a 65mm form Ford racing..I think the Cobras came with a 65mm stock. IMO, instead of getting a 94-95 5.0 intake (same as the 92+ Thunderbird/Cougar) you'd be better off just getting the adapter elbow so you can use hte fox intake with a SN95 throttle body. Or, if money alows, get a 95 Cobra intake.

Just to make sure your NOT talking about the following:

I would need to move the TB around 45*

You're correct. I'm not talking abou that. What I'm talking about is a bolt on 45º elbow that positions the TB in the same locaiton as the SN95 5.0L's. It is intended to be used if you have an SN95, but want to use an intake from a fox mustang, or various aftermarket intakes designed for the fox. I know Edelbrock makes one, and i think it is arounda $100. Kinda steep considering what it is, but still cheaper than buying a whole new manifold.

Thanks for the offer, but I picked up the 92 T-bird intake adn throttle body plus Mass air bracket for a song at U-pull.

                    Now, to see what works....
I'd like to save my money for other parts...
