Gears in 97 automatic V6 Stang?

What did they come with? 2.73/3.08/3.27...?

    I know they're 7.5 non-traclok - right?

I have a friend with this car and maybe Dan's 7.5" 3.73s would work?

What's the story on speedo calibration with this car?

    Thanks for any info,
    Kris

    My 3.73's should work.

I think the '97 and OLDER has a gear you can switch in the speedo cable?

I think that all 'stangs come with 3.27's stock....

      Dan-

Will you sell just the gears? (IE not the entire rearend)

What do you have to get for them?

      Thanks,
      Kris

well no.... all mustangs didn't come with 3.27s. most fox's with a stick came with 2.73s, most autos came with 3.08s, and i think starting 93, they were putting 3.08s in most all of the cars. but a car could be ordered from the factory with other ratios.
        yeah, they're an open diff.

My '92 LX Convertible 4 cylinder with an auto had factory 3.73's....

Are you sure on the gears Greg? I was under the impression that stock was 3.27 and the 3.73's were for heavier cars (my 'vert).

Not calling you a liar, just trying to confirm..

well i was going to put that i wasn't sure if it was the same for 4 bangers.... but i didn't think anyone would care about that TRASH! jk.
umm, i'm not positive if verts came with different ratios than hatchbacks and notchbacks... i think they were the same, only cuz i haven't ever heard otherwise.
and i did say they CAN come from the factory with other optional gears, but i've never really seen it, most of the time 3.27s were the option. dan, if your car had 3.73's with an open diff, it should have had a "6" axle code.

I think 2.73s are actually the most common(at least in 87-93)

                  I stand (sit) corrected.

For v6's here it is cut and dry.

                    94-98 v6's all had 2:73 gear's in the 7.5

                    99-03 3:27 And have a traction lok option.:rotate:

I have a friend with this car and maybe Dan's 7.5" 3.73s would work?
Yup it will work just fine, Should just link right up with the hardware you allready have.

But keep in mind 94 and up have rear disc brake's So you gonna wana swap the disk brake set up from Your frined's car on to dan's rear end.
