    problem with ac/vent controls

dont know what caused this to happen, but i turned on the a/c today, and no air was blowing at me, but i could hear it.

put my hand infront of the vents, nothing. put my hand by the defrost vent, and its blowing out of there, but i have a/c selected.

anyone know whats up? seems that all my air is stuck on blowing out of the defrost vent.

vacuum line or actuator that control the vents is bad. Check the connections of the vacuum lines first.

Can you move it to other areas in the car?

if you lose vacuum to the climate control panel, it will default to defrost.

I would guess you have to pull out the HVAC panel. never had to do that yet so......

pull the shifter boot, then pull the center console around the radio and then there should be 4 bolts holding the climate controls in place. Should be fairly simple. If you want more room remove the radio also.

on foxes you just pull the little trim piece off, remove 4 screws and then BAM! it falls out in your lap.
don't you have some kind of chiltons manual or something to look at remove procedures? :idiot:
