    Driveshaft Safety Loop

Which brand would people suggest on buying???? I am correct in thinking that you need one if you are faster than 14.0 at the track?? Let me know, I think I should pop one under my car.
    Thanks

I put a UPR one on my car. It's a two piece bolt togather, so I didn't even have to take off my drive shaft to put it on. It's also zinc coated. I thought it was a pretty nice piece for $40. Good luck.

did you just have to drill through the floor or did it hook up with the tranny cross member?

That is kind of what I am wondering........I do not really want to drill through the floor, or have to pull the carpet up to attach it??

I went with the Jegs safety loop, its one piece, so you have to unhook driveshaft, but I was putting an aluminum shaft on anyways it looks nice, made specifically for 79-93 stangs

Hmmm...probably wouldn't hurt me to get one...especially since my shaft runs through my gas tank...

You pretty much have to drill through the floor. I don't know of anyone that makes one unless it's welded in. I have a metco that I bought from jds performance. I don't think you need one until 11.99 or running slicks but I would definitely recommend one. If you break a u-joint you'll be glad you have one. Nick

I think everyone should have one! fast or slow! If a the front of a driveshaft goes there is a possability of the car fliping but it would have to come apart at high speed which is un unusual. usually they come apart at launch. Blkthndr's rear u joint came apart and did alot of damage from the driveshaft floping around.

If anyone is interested I can build custom loops and weld or bolt them in for about $40. I will also do a rear one for $30

Paul, who sells a loop that can bolt/weld to the subframe connectors?

J, shoot me some pics of the loops that you build. i might be interested.

Is this something new that they are doing. 14.0 and faster is alot of stock cars even or is this only for cars that were not this fast from the factory?
