    DSS Enginges

Has anyone bought anything from these guys? Anyone have any experience with their heads or short blocks? They are out of St. Charles IL. Any info about them would be great. Thanks

bought a bullet 306 2 years ago and bolted a set of canfields and an s-trim to it.
    made 434 rwhp/ 390 rwtq in a 90 gt.

their stuff is decent and never had any problems. ran smooth and was shipped on time as described.

A guy who moved away from MN BLOWN GT bought one of thire super pro bullits and it came with a bent crank. He had a 1 year struggle to get them to fix it. I had one of their 306's in one of my cars and it had 1 hole 60 over and 7 30 over and they never line honed it like they say they do.

Just my .02 there are alot of good machine shops in the area and they can do the same job for close to the same price. Is something happens then maby you have some help.

From what I read on other boards, DSS has had some problems with modulars they put out. However, I do talk to one guy that is running a DSS modular with no problems.

I would go VT if money is no object. MMR gets good reviews from people and is slightly cheaper.

Coast High in Cali I have heard makes engines better than DSS with fewer problems. I too have heard of the bent crank problems more than one time.

Over the years I have had all 3 of these guys do work for me and have NEVER been bitten. Buy from someone that you can talk to face to face. All 3 are very experienced and people come from all over the country to have stuff built here. NASCAR,TRANSAM,these guys have done it.
