  • Compression on a 302

    What is a good Compression # on a 95 302 it is not in the car so i have to turn it over by hand I'm getting 55 to 60 on all 8

    you have to crank it over using the starter. anyways depending on milage it should be somewhere around 150-180psi i believe. the best way to test out and see if an engine is good while it is not in the car is to do a leak down test.

      yes. You have to use starter as tim said. Cranking it over by hand will not give you accurate enough readings.

        anything under 100psi usually isnt enough for combustion
