    Problem with Mil eliminators!!!

Okey, car is on jack stands right now, I just installed the mil eleminators and when I try to start the car I put the key in and the key wont turn, I pulled the key out put it back in and tried again. The key will not turn, I have the clutch pushed in and am in Neutral.

I tried my second set of keys and same problem. I removed battery cable again to see what would happen and reattached nothing...

    Key just wont turn

i dont see why the mils would affect starting.. but have you tried starting it w/o the mils?
PATS keys? dont know if that has anything to do with it or not...

tried turning the wheel hard to either side? sometimes the lock cylinder gets "stuck" with the steering wheel lock...just a thought

That doesn't sound like it's related to your MIL eliminators. Did you try to rock the steering wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key to release the steering lock? Your car should run even with the MIL eliminators disconnected, it will just throw a code in the computer and the car will go in "protect" mode.

I didnt think they would effect the ignition at all, but I forgot to disconnect the battery when I started splicing into the wire, and thought maybe I blew a fuse or shorted something out.

Then I started to clean up the area when my dad came home, and he was like did you try turning your steering wheel... and then I just about slapped my self.

Heh so I turned the steering wheel and started up perfect.

I feel silly now.. oh well

P.S. Those things are not worth 30 bucks... they are a couple of wires and something else... I know an electronics expert could make it for 30 cents...

But oh well, they should last for ever and I can always move it to a new car when the time comes.
          Thanks for your responses guys.

Is that an OBDII thing since i don't think we have such problems on the eariler SN95's?

The steering lock had me freaking out 2.5 years ago too.

I dunno. Ive never actually locked my steering wheel like that before, it must have been because I put it on an incline when I put the car up on jacks and turned the wheels, my dads truck does it like every other time I drive it.

No, i wasn't talking about the steering. I lock mine everytime for security reason (figured it's a little safer in aiding against theft). The car doesn't have to be on an incline. You just give the steering a good turn after turning the ignition off.

I was talking about the MIL eliminator, and the newer stangs being OBDII. I was wondering if that was the reason for them needing one. I don't think the eariler Sn95's (5.0s) have to deal with installing one (MIL elim) after exhaust mods.

Oh yeah, I dunno I think the label on the package even says 96-2003 mustangs.

I drove around for about 30 miles before the Check engine light came on. I installed the mil elimn's and went off immediatly.
