Anyone have a Mark VIII fan swapped in?

If so, would like to know the dimensions, and what you did for control.

Dan as I am sure you are aware of they are pretty thick as well but there is plenty of meat on them to trim. I run mine via switch combined with a bosch 75amp relay. I've done it this way for 2 years now without any issues. I hear that DC controller is the way to go though.

I've got the DC Controller here too, but I'm just using it on a Taurus Fan...No complaints here.

kenny, do you have any pictures of your taurus fan setup? i am running one and it cools well, but it has a lot of gaps on the shroud and i know that is hurting the cooling as it could probably cool better if it was a sealed shroud.

I'd be using it on an F150 so depth is no problem. How much is the dc controller? Any links to buy?

I might have the seal thatgoes between the fan and the radiator Timmah....get a hold of Akromix, it's sitting in his garage right now.

                    Dan, check out www.dccontrol.com

It will give you all the info you need. I think mine came to around $120, cause I needed a filter since my battery is relocated. The part number you would need is something like FK-35...I think. I believe it will pretty much run any fan.

                    Tim,

The only gap I have is at the bottom of the fan and I mounted it upside down so the gap is on the top. It keeps my car at 180...even sitting waiting to get into Car Craft. For some reason I can't attach the pics I have. PM me your e-mail add and I'll email the pics. What year taurus fan do you have?

That shroud is kinda small for what I want to use it on, what is the size of the Mk VIII fan itself? Might be possible to just mount one into my existing shroud....

I used a box off of a camaro for while... 4-banger mustangs also have a pretty simple device to control the fan... it works off of a ground switch so you have to get it into a water passage...

Otherwise, I've seen the old bi-metal probe work just fine on a lot of people's cars. And those can be had at Red Rooster or Napa...
