tranny crossmember question?

ok i finally got a tranny. i picked up a tremec 3550, installed it and now i have to modifiy my crossmember to get it to fit, and i know what everyone is going to say. "slide the crossmember back and reweld it" but what im wondering is what exactly do i do it? anyone ever done it before? anything would help.

As far as I know you have to break the tac welds on it. Slide the top part to the trans, the bottom to the cars mounting point and reweld. I havent seen it though

Its very simple, just like Maddmatt said. Just grind the tacks loose, then slide the crossmember back as far as it will go and re tack it...or just get a crossmember from a fox with a auto trans.

the auto and stick have different crossmembers? ok here is another dumb question, (its been a while since i removed this) what side of the car does the big hump on the crossmember go on?

I believe the lower side is on the passenger side
