To All:
The performance from this mod is suppose to be stupendous compared to any thing else out there!
I hijacked this thread from the Mach 1 Registry. Joe Charles who works in the parts department at Parkview Ford in Georgia has done extensive mods to his Mach 1. They are also Steeda distributors. In fact he is a fanatic. I spoke to him recently. "He regularily beats the snot out of his Mach 1."
The Steeda 5 link plants the rear end so well for road racing that it regularily out performs much more expensive machines.
The thing that intrigued me was that it also puts so much power to the ground for drag racing that you could rip up your rear end if you go all out like he does with 5500 rpm launches. (By the way, He has done just that. Tore up some Ford parts. But the Steeda 5 link was not damaged by these gyrations.) You would have to build a rear end and drive shaft to get the most out of this mod. But it is easily superior to what is typically used for drag / street modifications. You would need to do springs and rear control arms with it.
Steeda info on the geometric changes is explained in part in following review.
This is an intriguing concept for me. Since most of the time we are driving our cars daily. Why not get more enjoyment out of the handling? Both road and drag in one package? This option may give dual benefit at a lower cost point.
What do any of you think of this idea? Any one here run a 5 link rear suspension on their mustangs.
Ed

le Fast One, This is the freakin internet, you are listening to a guy that sells Steeda, what the fuck do you expect him to say....???? How much tracktime does he have with a full MM or Griggs setup car??? I guarentee you, if you drove my car you would wet your pants with the traction it has also, and it aint steeda. In fact, I don't know one person running a steeda 5-link in any of the racing that I have done. The companies with the biggest adds arent the ones that make the best products, guys.
