    Subframes

okay, i am pretty sure that i am going to pick up some MM full length subframes within the next week or two.

what are the advantages and disadvantages of subframes? will my 60ft's suffer/increase/stay the same?

i am running on et streets, with pretty much stock suspension except bbk progressives in the front, stock in the rear, kyb adjustable struts up front, no sway bar, hotchkis lower's, stock uppers.

the best i have cut so far is a 1.681 and obviously i want to get that in the low 1.6's so i can see that 11.99 pass.

    thanks,
    Tim

    Disadvantage: More weight

Advantage: Watch your front end pull straight up with no twisting.

Piece of cake. Use a drive on lift in order to keep the weight on the wheels, put the subframes in place and weld them. 1-2 hrs at best, then paint them if you choose.

I liked mine alot and I just got the standard length MM. Driving without the swaybar isn't so bad with the subs on. If anything it should sixty better. I got a 1.85 just walking it out of the hole this past weekend.

the steeda ones are easier to install than the MM we have done both and theres a lot more welding involved with the MM they are basically the same until you get to the support piece that is under the seats the steeda is a 1 piece design and the MM has like 8 pieces that you have to weld together. otherwise they look exactly the same once all done they come with lower torque box reinforcements, the subframes, and braces for under your seats. both are awesome but the steeda is just a little easier to install.

My MM ones were 79 bux shipped. I POR-15'ed them. Then get carnutz to weld them up for cheap. Nice job too.

If your going do it half assed, buy a piece of angle iron and weld it in, otherwise do it right and get full length subframe connectors. (yes, the more expensive ones)

Steeda copied MM's old design connectors, go with the MM's new XL's which are half again stiffer than their old full length connectors.

Man, if I would've known my subs were half assed I woulda just knocked down some stop signs and welded those bad boys up.

                    jk

Standard lengths are fine for a street/drag race application. In a vert I may go for the full lengths, but then again I'd never own a vert.

This is the setup I am ordering in 1 week. The outer ones which connect the ront to the back are weld in and the center section is a bolt in to the outer sections. Then I can get a torque arm that mounts to the center section fron the 9" rear.
