Hook up timing light on spark plug end as close to the spark plug as possible (within a foot) making sure the arrow is pointed toward the spark plug. Hook up positive and negative leads. Take a tire crayon and mark 14 deg. BTDC on the harmonic balancer. Start car. Pull out the small spout connector in the plug. It is a 2? wire connector close to the distributor. It looks like a very small module and don't lose it. Loosen distributor hold down bolt. Find timing mark while aiming light at mark turn distributor until pointer is pointed at 14 deg. BTDC. Tighten down distributor hold down bolt. Re-check timing. If still at 14 BTDC re-connect spout connector. Unhook positive and negative leads on timing light and spark plug lead. Proceed to piss pound car to see if it is any faster.

It's easy. Bring it down to Porky's and there are plenty of people that can help do it in the parking lot. Just mark the balancer prior to trying to time it or it's a Pain in the Arss
