    nitto's?

ok, so i am really in the need of some decent tires, since my 225's can't hook worth a shit. i was thinking of picking up a set of nitto 555 DR's in the size of 245 50 16. would these tires help my problems in the traction department?

I wish I had some 60 ft. times to prove it but I have 245/16's on my car and they hook quite a bit better than street tires. They work better when they are aired down and warmed up with a good burnout. I bought mine from discount tire in Eden Prairie for $148.99 a tire. Nick

              Nitto drags are great.

Now I know a bunch of people cut 1.X times with there drag radials, but I was at rock falls with a bunch of other guys on the forum.

And Everyone else was cutting 2.5 or higher 60 foot times with their street tires, and I was cutting what was in my sig or very close to that. I think it was the overall track which gave me the not so good 60foot times, but it was much better then the other guys there with the 97 cobra's that had street tires.

Im sure I could do much better then 2.1 60 foot, but ive only been to the track twice, and it also could be track conditions.

2.5 go ft's!!! someone needs to learn how to drive, shit my car ran 2.0's on bald 245/45/17's and rock hard suspesion, but yeah my first time at the track with the nittos i pretty much had to totaly re-learn how to launch my car as thy hooked very good, if i could have gotten more runs in i think i could have done better but so far iv gotten a 1.90X out of them

yeah with my old tires, that were 225/60 on a 15 inch turbine wheel, i still managed 2.0X 60 foots on a bone stock suspension too! they were some cheapass bfg radial tire too!
but that wasn't at the house of spin either.

For a local place, Discount Tire is prolly gonna be the cheapest. And yah, if anything, they WILL give you an edge over a street radial on the street.
