engine swap ?

I have a 1983 merc. couger that has a perfect body. I have been toying with the 3.8 v6 in it for a while and its still gut less. Im thinking of putting a 289 ho in it but im not shur what I need to do to make it fit. I here I need to change the trans. so I havent made the swap yet but I just heard the other day that you can get a bellhousing adapter. is this true? if it is where can I find this adapter. let me know if you know anything.

Do you need a new K-member for a 6 to 8 swap in a cougar like you do in a mustang ?

hmm...if you do can you use Fox K-members? If so I have the widest one available for sale in parts??

my car is an 84 and it had a 3.8 V6 originally, and i didnt have to switch the k-member, i just used V8 motor mounts.

Nope, it had a C5 in it, i recycled that,then i got a C4 and a dual hump cross member, the 351 and c4 bolted right in.

cool hopefully the v8 will bolt right in for me to. I have a good trans with a shift kit. Im just getting sick of blowing headgaskets every time I rev it past 6000.

Why would you rev a 3.8 V6 past 6000 RPM?

thats where it has most of the power. I never said it was a stock v6.
