What roller rockers do i need?

I have a set or E7s im putting on a rebuilt shortblock. I got them with only valves installed....no rockers or anything and I dont know what the stock ones have with them. I figured since i need then anyways i might as well get roller rockers. Which ones do i need....pedestal mount, stud mount or something else? Is anything else needed with them? also can they be run with stock pushrods? looking for a 1.6 ratio. I know you guys can help me out.

    you need pedestal mount.
    you can run stock pushrods.
not sure what is all available in 1.6 ratio, that is the stock ratio.
if you want to step up to 1.7, just get the ford/crane "cobra" rocker, you can find them everywhere and they're pretty cheap - about $100 for a good used set.

do i need guideplates or anything to run the pedestal mount 1.6s? I cant go 1.7 because im putting a TFS stage 1 cam in with the TFS spring upgrade kit which is good for .542 lift and with 1.7s it'd be too much.

Should i get hardened pushrods? I was flipping through Latemodel resto supply and they are only 40 bux...should i go with those?

Hey Andy, you don't need guideplates. But if you DO get them you will have to get hardened push rods then. Because the stock pushrods rubbing against the plates will make metal flakes.

Also, I have an 86 block with no reliefs cut. I'm going to e7 heads and was told to use the 86 rockers and pushrods. Would I be ok getting 1.6 rollers as well? No clearence issues right? Thanks.
