    Steeda Exhaust

Does anyone have Steeda exhaust? I have a 2002 GT. Is it worth the money or should I get something cheaper and still get the sound and performance?

If you have Steeda let me know and maybe I can come and hear it.

If I were you, Id just get a bassani x-pipe and throw some flomaster, or any other pop. muffler on there (unless you have a poweradder..)

The Steeda x-pipes ARE bassani pipes. The part #'s are the same. Steeda just calls them 'steeda pipes'. I'm not sure about the steeda catback though. I think thats their own design. Might be bassani though.

Don't buy exhaust from steeda, they are overpriced. They want about $100 more for their bassani pipe than you can get at other parts dealers. Houston performance sells the X pipes w/ cats for around $450.

Don't listen to 01zinc guy. It's been proven time and time again that a good midpipe (x or h) and a good catback (full system, not just mufflers) does net around 7-12hp at the wheels on N/A GT's. You don't need a power adder to justify spending good money on exhaust.

Headers are a different story. If you are running a blower then headers will give you more power, but N/A headers are not totally nessicary. Some people will disagree with me on that but I'm a budget minded person so headers on a stock (or light bolt ons) 4.6 is just not worth it.

If you want to hear good examples of different exhaust combos check out www.mustangexhaust.com . They have a ton of sound clips that you can download and listen to.

Exhaust is something that set's your car apart from the others. I personally am a huge fan of X pipes on 99+ stangs. I would stick with bassani because they are pure quality and I don't think I'll ever buy a non-bassani midpipe. My personal favorite combos on 99+'s are..

-Bassani X w/ cats + bassani quiet thunder catback
      -Bassani X w/ cats + borla XR1 catback
-Bassani X w/ cats + magnapack catback (setup i'm going to be runing)
-Bassani off road X + dynomax (friggin loud)

      See a theme?? :p

        Hey Punch

Do you think there is a setup that isn't too loud with a bassani off road pipe.

I would rather not have cats because the pipe is so much cheaper but I don't want it too loud.

Any offroad pipe will give you more volume.. BUT you could offset it with the Magnaflow catback. The magnaflows are quiter than the magnapacks and the same price. Offroad plus the magna flows might do you pretty good.

Dude, don't be afraid to be loud. Let the bastards hear you coming.

2.5" you might lose torque if you go 3". I am running a 2.5" Bassani X w/cats and a 2.5" Borla cat back (which I suspect that steeda cat-backs are either borla or Bassani). It sounds awsome and isn't too loud. I know that Steeda's side pipes look almost identical to Borla side pipes.

Casey's setup is pretty quiet at idle but when he let it rips.. it gets real loud real fast! But that's the way it's supposed to be. Sounds great.

Plus the borla tail pipes are sweeeeeeeet. :unf:

Do you think this is true?

(which I suspect that steeda cat-backs are either borla or Bassani).
                    Considering
                    Borla Exhaust is 665.99
                    Bassani is 468.50
                    Steeda is 549.95

Nevermind, I thought Bassani was more than Steeda. So Steeda is probably Bassani.

Do you think they will tell me if I give them a call?

Just check the part #'s. The part #'s for the bassani midpipe and the steeda midpipe are the same, might be the same for the catback.

                      Did you check out mustangexhaust.com?

If you want something aggresive, not super loud, but will rip when you get on the pedal.. get a bassani offroad pipe with magnaflows. Go listen to clips on that site.

I've checked out that site before. It's hard to really tell with those clips. Most of them sound the same. But I will check out that setup. Why am I wanting to get Steeda? I have a problem with wanting big name brands.

                        Maybe I like wasting money.

Well.. steeda isnt an 'exhaust company'.

Bassani, magnaflow, BBk, borla.. they are the "big names" in mustang exhaust. (99+)
