never gonna be better then a manual tranny. you can have shift kits in the older trannies, not sure about the newer ones. I know a tune can change the shift points usually.

Bullshit, an auto can easily be made to handle and perform just as well and/or better than a manual.
Expect nothing less, maybe more. :idiot:

Ha! If you want to drag an auto is the only way to go! Plus, just leaving it in gear and going is nice too.

for drag yes, i agree that is why I am leaving the C4 in my 69. But I still think a manual is better then a auto just cause I like shifting. So hence a auto will never be better then a manual. There are other areas where a manual is better then an auto also. It all depends on what the car is gonna mainly be used for.

I was just correcting you on your statement that an AUTO will NEVER be as good. Go with what you like and feel comfortable, just dont scare mr. wailed away from autos just because you like to hold a shaft while you drive.

Lentech is the best stuff you can put into a auto tranny. My tranny is rebuilt with there internals and soon i hope i plan to put there valve body in. Ask anyone about lentech and they will tell you they are the best in the business.

Putting there manual/auto valve body in can easily outdo a manual just cause of the consistency of the shifts.

Plus id also add that having a auto is also fun in that it lets you enjoy the driving aspect more i think. Yes i would think shifting a manual would be funner, but an auto is just as good when you have manual capability.

i have a 3000 stall and it conciderably helps with et times, lets the motor get into its power band quicker.

Plus i think converting to a 5-speed would cost way more then to make your auto just as good as a 5-speed.

Yes, if you do get a stall converter you will need one. They arnt expensive, around $40 for a decent one and are a must. even if you dont get a stall a cooler will help keep your tranny alive alot longer.
