    Polishing?

i was wondering if their is a place where you can get engine stuff polished (ex. s/c, alternators). if there isn't a place around MN, is there place you can ship your stuff out to. i might also look into chroming, but i'm wondering how stuff holds up under the hood (peeling or flaking). this is for a weekend car (show car) and garage kept (all the time). would like to hear from some of you with bling under the hood??? thanks

It's time consuming but doing the job yourself is really rewarding. Start with 80 grit sandpaper and work your way up past 400. Then when all the casting marks are gone, get a buffing wheel, attach it to your drill and buff the heck out of it with white rouge polishing compound.

try it on something small at first (tensioner pulley?) You'll be hooked.

I have heard even going up to about 2000 grit.

yeah, your patience is the limit. I could have sat in my basement rubbing pieces of metal for months, but after fine grit 400 it looked good enough for me!

Hit up mansonozz on Stangnet. He has a whole webiste with pics on what he did on his pristine vert. He polished the whole motor including the blower. Looks good.
