So the car will run crappy with the stock injectors and fuel pump ( it is a newer pump from Reilly, the best they sold) ? Will it wreck anything or just fowl plugs/ stutter on take off ? I've been given so much different info !!! I have a programmed hot chip. I took it out because I didn't like how it shifted into odrive . I'll need a fmu now I'm told ? I baby the car. I don't hammer on it much.

With a 11to1 disc in the fmu and a 255 pump you can run 6 psi. It will run fine. But it will go lean on the top. I drove with that same setup on my stock gt convert. For a couple years with no issues. But that doesnt make it a good idea. You are asking for trouble. Idealy you want a 255 pump 42lbs hr injectors and a proper tune. Without a fmu. Fmu = trouble.

        NO! Dont get a FMU.

Get larger injectors, the ones from Meegs will be fine and a Walboro 255 pump should be plenty. Fill it up with the 91-93 octane fuel that you will likely fill it with in the future and have it tuned by APS, Hi Tech, or DB Performance.

I wanted to simply throw on a charger . I didn't want to do all that extra stuff . That's why the charger guy told me at 8 psi I'd be ok. I wanted to keep it simple. I drive my car like 200 miles a year ! My kit came with a bov but no fmu ? I will need this ? Confusing.

You dont need a fmu. You dont want a fmu. You meed a255 fuel pump injectors and a tune.

I gave it some more thought, and this "kit" you purchased. Does it have an aluminum thing that looks like a hockey puck? Are they saying you can run 6psi when using a "fuel management unit" a FMU?
Ok, I can see that then. Put a 2:1 disk in it and let it eat.
Hum, you can use a FMU but that was back when "big" 42# injectors were quite expensive! Time has moved from that thinking.

With stock 19lbshr injectors you run a 11-1 disc. At 6#s of boost you will be close to 90psi fuel pressure. Assuming your pump can make and hold 90psi.

Lol, treed 4 times. That escalated quick.

Ok, yes I was also given a "hot chip" when I purchased my powerdyne.
The outcome was less than desirable. 4 motors, countless head gaskets, a twEECer, I broke down and got a dyno tune. Best money ever spent.

You can do what I did, about 15 years ago. We all start somewhere.

                  Time to go shopping :
                  42# injectors
                  Chip tune
                  Fuel pump
Boost reference fuel pressure regulator for stock SN rails (think its the 3 hole?? Fox is 2??)

Ok. I wasn't looking for huge project ! I just finished with my airplane I rebuilt . That was more work than I wanted. If I use a fmu dies that jump off the fp regulator fuel line and vacuum ? Thanks

the fmu hoses connect to the return fuel line that comes from the fuel rail. and vacuum is teed off of the fuel pressure regulator. it works by upping the fuel pressure incrementally vs boost. 11-1 means the fuel pressure is increased 11psi per every one pound of boost.

Never mind if the pump will do 90psi. Pump flow rate drops off as psi increases and with a stock pump I doubt it's flowing much at that pressure.

Upgrading the fuel system to support a supercharger sounds like too much work? Just think about how much work you'll be doing if you melt a piston or blow a head gasket. Swapping injectors and a fuel pump is easy.

I changed the fuel pump 5 years ago when it went out on my garage floor. It wasn't that easy laying on my back by myself using my jack to lift the tank back up ! Thanks

No discredit to you or your mechanical aptitude, but judging by the questions asked, I'm thinking you need to do a little bit more research before just throwing a supercharger on a car and hoping for the best. That's not a great recipe for success.
