    2001 Taurus P0172 and P0175

My father's car hard starts and occasionally runs rough - down on power.

I've been using Forscan to pull live data - short term and long term fuel trim among various sensors looking for an out liar.

Well - looks like it thinks the car is under extreme load from the vacuum reading, thus adding fuel and causing the rich code.

Am I off my rocker - but I can't find a MAP sensor on this car. Is it integrated into the MAF?

Car is super clean with ~150k on it - we did plugs, wires and coils. Cleaned the MAF as well-

    Thanks

    Kyle

There is no map sensor. And is it an OHV or OHC engine?

I'm guessing it will be a DOHC.

I've had a hand full of fords in the last few months with P0172/P0175 and both banks running pig rich. I put a fuel pressure gauge on them and found the fuel pressure up around 75 psi. They had stuck fuel pressure regulators. If your taurus is an OHV 3.0 with the returnless system then it will probably be something else.

Vacuum leaks and bad MAFs generally cause lean codes 171/174
