    TPMS woes

Trying to get 2011 GT wheels to mate to a 2010 Grand Marquis. I have a Snap on tpms reset tool and can read the sensors on the new wheels 180 degrees away from the stem, but when I put the car in program mode and try to program, the car isn't activating. I'm not sure if the activating tool is up to date for software, but it was purchased after both of the years of which I'm trying to program. Anyone have to ability to reset this for me?

It is possible that your sensors are not compatible with the car. You may have to move the sensors from the grand marquis wheels to the mustang wheels.

Not sure. From what I've read, the sensors are auto detecting.

We have some mac daddy $1400 tpms tool. If there was a tool that could get this done it would be that one.

did the merc have band type sensors or sensor stems?

I've read that the aftermarket 2010+ sensors are compatable with the older vehicles, but the OEM ones are not. As stated, I think you'll have to swap the old sensors to the new wheels.

As far as i know there is no disabling the system. I know for a fact that there is federal laws that call for not being able to

Fucking California hippies. Being that my original wheels are getting snow tires, what will it take to get both sets compatible?

Non OEM then? Pretty ghey that the Gt ones can't marry to something else. Is there some sort of device that will be like a false indicator to make the computer happy without actually disabling the system?

Build a capsule out of pcv pipe with a valve stem on one cap, place sensors inside, screw cap on, pressurize to 35psi, and toss it in the trunk.. /sensors.

Thought I read on Mitchell that the sensors also measure rotation and will transmit once triggered. After 2 min of no movement, they quit transmitting. Good idea though

Try it anyway. I bet it will work.
