    2.5 turbo question

I've got a '90 2.5 Dodge turbo with stock Mitsu turbo on it. Was thinking of having a little more fun with it and maybe upgrading to a bigger turbo. I'll be honest and admit I know very little about turbos so thats why I'm asking here.

I found a used one for sale, I'm not set on it by any means, just found it as an example to use, here's the info:

    Price: $475 shipped

Description: I have a nice used garrett turbo for sale, I bought it to put on my Dakota R/T but never got to it so it needs to go, T67 garrett with an 82 t3 hot side, zero shaft play and will make some serious power, it has a 3" v band already welded on the hot side.

here is the specifics off of site it was bought originally

    Description
The T3/T67 H.O. is the newest addition the the Full-Race turbo family. This turbo is one of the largest and most powerful T3/T4 turbo on the market today! Available with Ball Bearing or Journal Bearing center section

Compressor Specifications:•T04R 67mm compressor wheel with a max flow rate of 75 lb/min.
    •0.70AR T04S compressor housing.
    •Good to 700+ whp.
    Turbine Specifications:•P trim turbine wheel.
    •0.63 or 0.82 A/R. turbine housing available.
    •4 bolt standard turbine discharge.
CHRA Specifications:•360 degree thrust bearing standard.
    •Oil cooled&lubricated center section.

My question is, is this a good size/style turbo for my application? My motor is in a Voyager minivan that weighs roughly 3400 lbs and has the stock Mopar 3 spd auto trans, 70k original miles.

What kind of performance improvement could I expect with the above turbo? If that isn't a good option, what kind/style turbo should I go for?

This is pretty much a every few days driven van so I can afford to lose some mpgs in exchange for some more grunt. Wouldn't mind getting into the 14s if I ever raced it.

I'd do a holset, 67mm turbo has a lot of potential if you are looking to make 600+, but if you will settle for 550whp potential and better response a HX351/HX35 and what not will bolt right up.
My friend has on his spirit and its awesome.

Your friends spirit an r/t? Keep in mind that the stock 2.2/2.5 exhaust manifold has a proprietary bolt pattern. Just get a stock 50 trim t3, inter cool it, and get bigger injectors with a custom computer. It just so happens I have everything except the Turbo sitting in my garage. Also the stock pump is pretty weak.
      god damned tinypic.

Oh, and you can get that van into the 14s easily without doing too much. Clamp the map and get a rising rate regulator. Inter cool it and raise boost to 17psi

            Yes.

And if you have Turbo problems I think I have 1 or 2 stock mitsu te04h turbos laying around.

Yes it is an RT. It is quigs on here.

Its not 2003 so go with a holset, chip and maybe E85 if you can swing it and have something that could dip low 12s/11x trap. Or you go with a stocker and be another dream killer i guess.

Horrible advice for a stock 2.5. This isn't the same dohc engine in that rt dude. Its a sohc fast burn head engine. I have some 54lb injectors too somewhere.

Drunko mcmoppos Turbovan ran 14.80s with what I listed. Inter cooler was just a Turbo probe/mx-6 one.

I would love to own a Turbo mini van- my uncle has a CLEAN 86 NS 2.2 5 speed van- I desperately want to talk him into a SRT4 swap in it...
