Gotta replace rear wheel bearings

Gotta replace rear wheel bearings in my Cobra. Shouldn't be too bad to do. Anyone got any tips I should know? Been a while since I've done it but as I recall it's not that hard...just time consuming. Gonna pick up a bearing puller from Harbor Freight tomorrow.

If it's like GM and the needles run on the shaft you'll need new axles as well or offset bearings. I've never done them in a Ford though.

This. Happens alot on Ford trucks and SUVs. You'll see a worn stripe as wide as the bearing, and it will be either pitted or a gray looking color with edges you can catch your nail on.

Got it all done earlier. Axles were fine...caught it early. I did finally figure out that I had to back out the ABS so the axles would push in far enough to get the c-clips out. Other than that all went smoothly.

Excellent. Strange that you had noise and didn't have wear on the axles though.
