    Supercharger question

Helping Canh (CHU-THIS) figure out some specs with this Edelbrock E-Force supercharger kit. Edelbrock website doesnt detail or explain much about their kits just general info. CHU-THIS is thinking about purchasing this e-force kit but needs to know how to figure out how much boost he can safely run on his motor set up currently and how to estimate how many hp per 1 lb of boost he will be gaining. Anyones help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

lets say he wants to aim for running 14lbs of boost, to avoid detonation he wil have to retard his timing correct? Like 3-4 degrees lets say. IDK much about the E-Force kits but like I said any input will help with his build. Also running a supercharger will he need to run an intercooler like a 3 core or something air/air?

Its a roots/twin screw type blower. Not sure on how much power it will make. As for the inter cooler, your only choice will be an air to water intercooler that goes between the blower and the intake if they make one.

You could run meth. The twinscrews are fairly efficient though.

you do know his current setup is like 11.5:1 right, he will never get 14lbs of boost with that compression

Why not? There are numerous people running ~20lbs of boost in the rsx world at 11:1 on 93 octane. And if he is running E85 he will be able to get that boost no problem.

Doesnt this car already make close to 500whp n/a? I would think any boost would put this motor over the edge.

I think TRDons dads vette is on 9 lbs and it made 530whp with stock heads. Cahn would make 600+ at 6lbs i bet.

I actually got in touch with a guy that works for edelbrock and who is familiar with the E-Force chargers....he was explaining that if his motor is built right he should be able to make amazing power on 12+ lbs of boost and would be well over the 600 mark but if he didnt want to build his motor and just did the "bolt on & go" he would only be able to push about 8lbs out of it and he said it wasnt even worth it because he would only gain about 50-60hp. Does this sound as retarded to anyone as it does to me? Canh makes 450 SOLID HP I told the guy canhs motor specs & mods and he still was trying to tell me the same result....can someone clarify if pushing 14lbs is honestly necessary to make "it worth it" or if running 5-6lbs like kyle said can really gain him that much added power w/o more motor work being done. Bottom line is canh wants to get the most power out of the mods he has done to the car now and still run on corn.

Pretty close to that, It is around 7 lbs and made 500 ft/lbs from 2500 past 5 K With the displacement and better head setup, Cahns car would be stupid fast with very little boost.

I understand you have a religion called LS motors and you have faith that the LS motors break the laws of physics and work better and cost less than anything else ever built. Plus they never wear out.

                            I disagree.

What heads are on his car? Seems weak for only 450whp.
