GT500 - any way to tell if a tune is installed?

Just bought an '07 GT500, it has a JLT intake, smaller pulley, and hopefully is tuned.... It has one of those stupid chrome "SCT" emblems on the trunk, but there was no handheld tuner with the car. Is there any way to tell if a tune is installed? The traction control light on the button is not lit, don't know if it normally would be. When I push it once "off" lights up. I'm concerned that the previous owner may have decided to keep the tuner and put the stock tune back in, don't want to hammer it until I figure it out....

If there is a tune installed now and I buy another handheld will it talk to the pcm, or would I have to have a dealer flash it back to a factory tune first?

The traction light wont be on unless the button is pushed to shut it off. with just those 2 mods there shouldnt be too much of an issue

The JLT cai comes with a different much larger maf, so I don't believe there's any way it would be safe without being tuned.

If it has a different maf and was not tuned i think it would run like shit.

              ask the previous owner ?

Also, could be chipped instead of a handheld tuner.

Bought it from a dealer. They tried to contact the previous owner, but I haven't heard anything. It looks to have a JLT kit with the cai, pulley, Metco tensioner, and it would have included an SCT handheld. I'm planning to get another tuner so I know whats in there, who tuned it, for what octane, how aggressive, etc... My only issue with that is if there's currently a tune downloaded I think I'll have to have a dealer flash it back to stock before I can use another handheld....

I've got an XCal3 on the way from Jon Lund. For now it will upload whatever tune is in there as the "stock" tune. When I get back up to Inver Grove Ford I'll put it back to "stock", have them flash it with a real stock tune, then install the Lund tune again. That way I'll have a real stock file if I ever want to pull the mods off....
