    Starter Issues.

My starter was weak so I was going to replace it with this starter I got from a friend http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PWM-9503/?rtype=10
Now when I go to hit the key all I get is one good click.

Now what I'm wondering is if I dont have this one wired right. As my org started only had the one wire going to it and that was it and this one looks to have two spots for wires to be bolted to them.

Do I need to run a jumper wire like this? http://static.summitracing.com/globa...ord_xstorq.pdf

Do I need to clock my starter?

Mine is jumpered, because the heavy start wire is not hot at all times due to the fact that the OE starter does not incorporate the solenoid into the starter, while that one does. You need a jumper wire since that starter DOES have a solenoid built into it, that way when you power the heavy B+ wire, it will also activate the solenoid, causing the starter to do it's thing.

      Clocking your starter wtf?

New starter operates different. Take the starter signal wire off the starter relay and extend it to the new terminal at the starter. Your new starter should have came with a note to do this.

        Just jumper it.

Edit, if the starter is already in the car, and it's not rubbing up against anything it shouldn't need to be clocked. If you didn't check to see if the 2 locking screws are tight then you might want to pull it and make sure. Unless you trust the choad-wurst that slapped it together and tossed it in the box.

I didn't understand what any of what you just said means. Would you like to make some money. I'm lazy and want the car to be running right now.

You want to pay me to take 2" of wire, with an eye lit on each end, remove the nut from the big wire and the nut from the small terminal, put the wire on, and tighten both nuts back down?

            Do this, and enjoy.

Seems like you put alot of time it to this picture. You probs could have just done the starter as fast. Aggh I really just don't want to roll around on the ground anymore. I'm ordering a lift asap.

You pull budderigs Scoobydoo engine apart but complain about having to add an extra wire to the starter?

Then don't do it today. I'm guessing you don't have to depend on it to get to work.

On my pickup I did just jumper the starter as shown in the drawing, that works too.

I've had 3 f150s, and I've put starters in each. Junk Fords

My starter is wired exactly the same way also.
