Ok, I was thinking about tossing the clutch fan. would it be benefical for me to pick up a flex fan or should i take the route of electrics, or should i just stay with my clutch fan?
Flex Fan or Clutch?

I am a big fan of the electric route. Flex fans are pretty loud and imho I think they look kinda funny in the engine bay. I dont know that a flex fan would draw as much cfm as the stocker anyway. I went with the Mark VIII fan and wonder to this day why I didnt do it sooner. You pretty much have to run a 3g alt with this fan (which is a good upgrade anyway) and you have to do some wiring, but all in all its pretty easy to do. You wont ever really have to worry about cooling issues if you get that fan.

what would i have to do in terms of wiring for the 3g alternator? I don't have any cooling probs as of right now. when you were saying that the flex fans were loud, do you mean they sounded like a blower when the motor was reved up? or did they have the annoying whooosh sound when the car was reved?O.C.R.
I make horse powerz

Yeah, those flex fans make that woosh noise until they flaten out. My dad has one on his car and I just dont like it. Wait until you put some more mods on your car, the cooling bug will catch up with ya in the long run

mmm, i might have tossed the bolts out, but actually the bolts it came with i didn't use anyway because they were grade 5.
i went to the hardware store and bought 4 grade 8 bolts for them.
if i remember right, they are 5/16" X18
probably 2 bucks in bolts.... but i can look around for them if you really want them.

Does that flex fan fit with the stock shroud? What made you swap it out for an electric?Last edited by Vibrant93; 04-18-2003, 04:35 PM.

well i think electric fans just make everything look cleaner, and plus, now i can shut it off to gain maybe 2rwhp!!! woohoo!
but i mostly got it to save room and make my engine compartment look like less of a cluster f%ck.
