Cam position sensor. It'll shut off like you turned the key off. No warning. No rough running just dead

This or FICM harness. Try pushing on the wiring harness that goes from the metal box on the driver's side of the motor while the engine is running and see if it stalls. That wiring harness had rubbing issues nearly all years and it controls the fuel injectors. The harness rubs on the engine components so usually it will hiccup better if you push rather than pull on the harness.

I'm not sure if the 6.0 litre is the same as me 7.3. On my 7.3 it takes about 10 minutes to replace it max. There's one bolt that holds it in.

I believe they were around $30. I carry a spare with me. It seems like I replace it every couple of years now.

Also only buy a factory Motorcraft cam position sensor. When I bought my 7.3 it had a brand new one from the parts store. It was not a week later and I was having problems. Replaced it with a motorcraft part (all of $15 with the TCS discount) and no problems since.

Make sure you or someone else didnt put regular gas in the tank. I know a guy that had the simular problems and he filled it up with unleaded.

Check voltage at the idm, should be about 40? Volts I think? A decent scan tool will do it

i would say cam sensor, if you can data log, monitor sync, ficm sync, ficm M voltage, ICP.

odds are your sync or ficm sync is dropping out. FICM Mv. should be greater than 44v, ICP must be a minimum of 500psi

oh and cam sensors on 6.0's suck inless your a contortionist. its up on the block behind the power steering pump

other posibility is of a leaking ICP sensor causing a short which is back on the high pressure pump

ficm or sticking egr valve. i haven't seen any 6.0's with cam sensor problems.
