    load whistle at 1900 RPM

I have a 04 F150 Supercrew. When it is cold out side and I am driving down the road the motor has a very high whisle only at 1900 RPM. When it is warm outside no whistle.

Thanks ahead of time for the help.

this is a very comon on the 04-up f-150's. the noise is originating from the intake manifold. we have contacted ford and at this time there is no repair for this noise. hopefully you did not go out and buy an alt.
it's almost allstock! except the wheels.

my 06 fiddy only does it as it warms up, kinda annoying, but ultimately no biggie.

                        Interesting.

Mine will whistle occasionally when it gets really cold out. But I always assumed it was from my JLT ram-air and the billet aluminum mass air flow housing.

I do'nt think it is the alternator, it is most likely the serp belt or the intake as "allstock93" posted. I had an '04 5.4L and it did it all the time in the winter. At that speed the harmonics seemed to be exactly right to whistle loud. Have someone rev it to that RPM and open the hood, it'll be pretty clear where it's coming from.....

As for a fix, I tried belt dressing and I thought that worked for a while..but I can't remember for sure. Sorry.

Like I said I thought it was my aftermarket intake, but reading that others experience it with the stock set-up, I would agree with allstock93 that it is within the actual lower intake.

Mine sounds like an intake noise and nothing like a belt or alternator noise.

Probably that BBK throttle body that's whistleing. Take it off.
