To Boost or not to Boost!

So like 7-8 years back when my car turned 150K, I stripped the block down bare. Had everything checked, decked, ect. I did a full Trick Flow Track Heat HCI setup with all the supporting equipment. Now I've got 38K miles since build, with roughly 40 trips down the 1/8 mile strip.

I've been contimplating Boost for quite a while......It must be reliable since I daily drive in the summer to the tune of 5K miles....I must still retain my AC....I don't want a race car.....I was thinking somewhere in the lower/mid 400's RWHP, but not something that is going to destroy my stock block....

    What should I run???

              Or That

Bolt on any one of the belt driven horsepower generator options, AND HAVE IT TUNED. As long as you do that, and not use octane booster instead of real premium gas, your goals will be met

I had a Novi 1000 on my old 86 GT for awhile. Nice setup, cheap, easy install. Stock 87-91 shortblock, B-cam, old J302 heads, shorty headers, GT40 intake, 8lbs of boost made around 390rwhp IIRC. Car ran pretty good, 11.73 at 119 in nice cool air with a stock T5 and stock suspension.

How well did the stock T5 hold up? I rebuilt my T5 with the upgraded higher moly steel kit that D&D performance had at the time. Supposed to be stronger input shaft and 2nd/3rd gears.

My 347 made 380 rwhp and I also sprayed a 150 shot on top of that with a t-5 and had no problem, its all about how you bang gears

My car made 360 with 13 lbs of boost for 7 yeara and i broke the block. Sometimes it has some luck with it.

                      I disagree.

That being said, don't let Casey drive the thing! That man is hard on transmissions (and seat brackets).

I also made 370-410whp over a 3 year period in front of a T5. I think the only reason it broke is I stayed in it over a set of railroad tracks. She made a hell of a mess!
