Well i finally got the engine in and running. Still welding items up yet before paint. Hopefully get it done for the summer. I'm not sure how this will be on the street but sure will turn heads.

I'm not a fan of blower surge.... it's annoying to me. I realize every combination is different, but typically I consider blower surge to be a sign of a poorly tuned engine.Originally posted by LES View Post

Damn i wonder what the alcohol dragsters and funny cars would run with a properly tuned engine? haha Just kidding. I think it has to do with the blower set up at as far underdriven or overdriven etc.
I'm going to see what i can do about it because when the trucks in drive or reverse and the engine surges it breaks the tires loose. The brakes have a hell of time to hold the tires from spinning everytime the engine surges up. I'm also going to go through the brake system with a fine tooth comb. I'm running two master cylinders one for the front and one for the rear. I'm thinking i have more front brake pressure than the rear so that's why the tires spin at a dead stop. Both the front and rear masters are 7/8" with stock gm front brakes and strange 4 piston discs on the rear. 1/4" line ran to the front and rear to a -3 braided then to the wheels. Any guesses before i tackle this and get a pressure guage inline to see what's going on?Comment

Strange engineering said i should have about 1,000 psi on the rear brake system and about 800psi to the front brakes. They like to see the rear tires doing majority of the braking.Comment

It's ironic that you would mention funny cars and dragsters... I have worked as a crew member on several funny car teams and I can't remember any of our cars ever having a surge. In fact, now that I think of it, I don't specifically recall ever seeing or hearing any TA/FC (formerly BB/FC) or AA/FC ever having a blower surge. I'm not saying it's never happened, but it's certainly is not normal in either category to have surge.Originally posted by deion82 View Post

I didn't take it negative. I was joking. Every alcohol car I've heard seems like it had the surge. Mine setup is efi so I'll have to look into the tune at idle.Comment
