First, you would have to define "best".
Durability?
Ease of use?
Value?
Smell?
Appearance? (subjective)
Availability?
It would be like asking what is the best sounding muffler. There are too many different opinions.
Here are some tests on different products:
Here are some examples of Zaino on local cars from myself and other Zaino customers.
Zaino is what I have used for years and most of my detailing customers request it also. The durability and ease of use is what sold me.
The best wax is the one that works for you and performs the way you like.

And it is only as good as the prep work on the paint. Any properly prepared surface will look good, even without wax on it. Using the proper applicators, towels, and methods will also affect the final product.
Edit: I forgot my 'worst' waxes are the ones that don't last, difficult to apply and remove, leave a lot of dust, stain the trim, and contain a lot of fillers.1995 Impala SS / T56 equipped ~ 1995 Firehawk convertible ~ 1964 Riviera ~ 2015 Silverado crew LTZ 6.2L ~ 2017 Silverado 3500HD High Country ~ 1950 Chrysler Windsor

3M makes some of the best waxes and polishes.

I've used a lot of waxes and polishes, and 3M has given me the best results.
There's something about dropping a terry towel on a fairly flat hood of your car only to watch it slowly slide 4' down and onto the ground...Now that's smooth!
But I am a 3M snob, there's hardly an application out there where I have found a better product than those made by 3M.
