Factory Jeep Cherokee... clear coat I would think. It's white and bubbling around the edge.

They are clear coated. Depending on if you want to "refinish" them or whatever. We have a place in town here the remanufactures them. Machines them down, removes all corrosion, repaints any inserts (if applicable), and recoats. Will look great when done. BUT.....sometimes it cheaper to buy new/diff or take off wheels, as it typically runs about $190.00/ea to reman.

Or you can do like Randy suggested and strip the coating off and polish them.

Cripes, this is a Jeep Cherokee. Bring it to Gilbert and run it through one of the mud runs. The iron ore mud and rocks will, uh, refinish them for you.

go to any truck wash ( i.e. blue beacon tractor trailer washes at most big truck stops,) have them u brine on the rims, but dont let that shit get on ur paint, it will eat the clear coat off like using windex on a window

too much work, brine will eat it clean off without any residue ( like using brake kleen)

Do you know what this stuff is actually called? I have a set of factory wheels I am going to redo this spring and while I have used the aircraft stripper routine in the past it is a PIA and messy. This sounds like a better way to go. I am going to have to call around and see who does this in the St Cloud area and knowing what to ask for would be helpful.

                            Thanks, Mike
