    MT or BFG DRs

Hey Nick, you think the tread width on a 275 MT or BFG DR would be comparable to a 315 Nitto 555r ?

I like the sticky of the MTs I had, but don't wanna run spacers, and the 315 555Rs are the perfect size, just not tacky enough for track use.

Lemme know so I can start doing some planning.

275/40R17 M/T specs out at 11" wide (BFG is same size 11")

      315 nitto is 12.13
      315 BFG is at 12.4"
      315 M/T is 12.7"

Didn't you run a 315 M/T on that other set of wheels you had???

Yeah, but even with the 3/8" spacers they would rub under full suspension extension which happens everytime in and out of my driveway. Nobody makes a wheel for our cars with the same back-spacing as the stock 17x9 in the format of a 17x10.5. Even the deep-dish require the spacers (Dan Neinstadt can attest to that).

Sold the tires, still have the 10.5 wheels though.

Really don't like running spacers at the track, it just seems like asking for a lug to break.

In my experience, Rod, the actual width of the 315 Nittos is just slightly bigger (less than 1/2") than 275 BFGs. I believe the M/Ts are similar to the BFGs.

Not sure how the MT are in the rain but my BFG are way better than I thought, I have talked to guys that have had the Nittos and BFG and liked the BFG in the rain way better + better hook on the street and track. I know when I took the vette to the track I just had to lightly spin the tires out of the water box. Nittos you have to burn the shit out of from what every one has told me.

My M/T's are horrible in the rain.

I was able to drive highway speeds with my Nitto's when I had those. But driving my car in the rain is a thing of the past. Now it is just asking for trouble.
