    RWD + winter tires

How bad will driving be? I refuse to buy a crap box or an SUV just for winters. Car will most likely have more than 400 rwhp

    What kind of car?

Weight in the trunk and a good set of snow tires you can get around just fine.

My truck is only 2 wheel drive. With snow tires it's unstoppable. With the summer tires it's useless

Drag radials. Sticks to the snow like a tree frog.

I live in Buffalo, NY where we have seen ~150" of snow this season. My BMW 330 with snows has not had one issue at all, never been remotely close to being stuck. If you've never been on snows you're in for a treat.

I have crappy all seasons on my SRT8 and it does alright. I'm sure with snows it will be unstoppable.

I have many winters with rwd and I'm still alive. A few I even had snow tires. People have been driving rwd for generations.

I'll take it one step further, to just drive home home well snow tires work. Before my BMW I had an Audi A4 Quattro with Nokian Hakkas, that thing was a goddamned TANK. For the hell of it I put my all seasons on to test out a fresh 8" snowfall, everything blew. I couldn't stop, turn, accelerate...it all felt like I was on ice.

Once you go snow tire there is no going back - the confidence, the traction - totally worth it. If you didn't think your daily driver could push snow over the hood without getting stuck, you have another thing coming

Yep, bought 18" steelies with blizzak ws80s for the wife's charger. Fucking unreal difference. Frozen rain? Snow? No problem, half throttle acceleration with hardly any wheel spin.

I drive my 2015 Mustang GT in the winter. I use Blizzaks and they work great. I would much rather do that than be forced into a winter beater, SUV or pickup 1/2 the year. Just me. Last winter I had the 2011 GT (same tires) and when I put them on the 2015 last November I couldn't tell which had been on the front vs. the back. They do spin all the time, but I don't deliberately try to spin them hard in order to save the tread and make them last as long as I can. Still, I was surprised and expected more wear. They should last a few more years, I think.

More often than not the GT is a lot of fun to drive and well worth the expense of winter tires IMO.
