    need some tires

My wifes car is due for tires, 195/65 15's it's a 2001 Saturn L series. Looking for something great in the snow that has decent tire wear and is an all season tire. Not going to put snow tires on it. What are my options?

How about a year round "snow" tire? Hankook makes a killer tire that is super in the winter and still runs great in the summer, I*Cept Evo W310. They about the same price of a decent all season but they carry the severe weather symbol. Meaning they are better winter rated then a typical all season....plus the carry IIRC a 40K mileage rating.

Take a look at that and lemme know your thoughts.

Hmmm, they look interesting but I am a little concerned about tread wear on them. I'd like to get a couple years on them and don't really know how many miles she drives a year since the odometer crapped out a few years ago. What do you know about continental pure contacts? Shoot me a price on the hankooks and Continentals... Otherwise if you know of any other tires, not concerned about ride quality, handling or noise (its a Saturn, it rides crappy and is noisey no matter what tire is on it) as much as winter traction and decent tread wear.

Pure Contact has more "summer" characteristics built into it. Will Not be as good in winter. Yes it will last longer but won't do as good. Look at the General Altimax RT43, 75K rating that has some great winter attributes, and a great price. Currently with a rebate as well.

I like those Generals. Not many reviews out on them yet but they have alot of winter traction features, and they seem to be pretty reasonably priced too. Shoot me a price on those. Prob looking to get them installed Fri Nov 1st.
